We believe there’s more to operating a successful business than simply completing a job on time.  As a successful and rapidly growing company, we aim to give something more. We understand that we have a wider responsibility to society, not only in delivering outstanding quality and service, but also by making a positive contribution to the community in which we work. We are committed to employing local people and sourcing materials from local suppliers wherever possible, and we take every opportunity to ensure that our presence in the community has a positive impact.

Community & educational involvement

All STV projects are linked to local colleges and schools to offer opportunities for trainees and apprentices, enabling them to gain valuable work experience alongside our skilled trades-people.  We regularly take part in careers days in local schools to promote construction to students of all ages, and we are always happy to become involved in community projects, such as fun days and ‘meet the contractor’ events. STV regularly becomes involved in local community projects, such as fundraisers and awareness days including annual participation in the Newham Homes 5-aside tournament in aid of ACTION Medical Research, and playing at West Ham in aid of Rippleway Boys Football Club.

STV actively supports Local Strategic Partnerships (LSPs) that work to improve the quality of life for local people by building strong, safe and sustainable communities. We are also involved in local labour initiatives to help unemployed people back into work.  As part of this drive, we have teamed with Jobcentre Plus to ensure that vacancies are offered within the local community.  STV also promotes local trainee development in conjunction with the CITB construction skills programme.
