Each programme is overseen by a dedicated contracts manager and a non-working project manager, and all operatives on site are supervised by an experienced team of site managers. This means that every employee has access to a constant point of contact, ensuring that any operational issues are resolved fast, effectively and with minimal disruption.
We believe that quality control is more than just a site-based function. It demands seamless communication and transparency between managers and staff at all levels, both on and off site. All STV programmes are monitored using our custom-designed Operations Management Platform (OMP), a cutting-edge project management software tool that allows all information about projects to be shared remotely with managers and clients from any location. Every member of our management team is equipped with a laptop, mobile phone and camera, ensuring a continuous line of communication and that all information is recorded and delivered to the client.
All STV quality systems and procedures are monitored in accordance with our BSI ISO 9001 registration, a comprehensive quality system which ensures that all work is completed to the highest standard.
Site progress is monitored, collated, analysed and published internally every month, enabling all site managers to compare the performance of their teams against other STV sites. The recorded information covers a wide range of KPI data including health and safety, environmental performance, mechanical and electrical installations, and quality control, and is a highly effective performance management tool.
To ensure that on-site standards are maintained, all installations undergo additional quality assurance checks by our electrical and mechanical managers; they also act as a constant point of contact for any technical advice or queries for our site management team.

Specific to our work on Decent Homes, the rolling programme is a streamlined working methodology that ensures your projects are commenced as scheduled and completed in the shortest possible time, without compromising quality and health and safety. This minimises inconvenience, and any disruption is kept to an absolute to minimum.
STV champions 'Just in Time' delivery methods, ensuring maximum efficiency in the use of materials while minimising waste to landfill. Keeping suppliers to a minimum also means there are fewer deliveries to site, reducing both local traffic and Co2 emissions. We provide our own dedicated site storage facilities and working offices for our teams.
To improve our response time on site and provide more accurate estimated time of arrivals to service calls, all STV vehicles are equipped with Quartix real-time tracking systems. Tracking improves on-site efficiency, and by deploying our vehicles more effectively it reduces our carbon footprint by an estimated 16 tonnes of CO₂ per year, while saving up to 600 litres of fuel per year per vehicle.
